“A man who is eating or lying with his wife or preparing to go to sleep in humility, thankfulness and temperance, is, by Christian standards, in an infinitely higher state than one who is listening to Bach or reading Plato in a state of pride” – C. S. Lewis
Just a reminder – it’s not about what you do, it’s about how you do it. It’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking that what we do or get accomplished is the end-all. If I keep going to church, if I make sure my kids have a good education, if I just buy my wife roses – then it will all be alright. Everyone will be happy.
The practice I work at, the Center for Christian Life Enrichment, holds ‘content vs. process’ as a core philosophy of what we do. Content is the details, the ‘what’. Process is what’s going on inside and the feelings we experience. I know that I have the tendency to aim solely for the content. I think to myself, “as long as I’m productive things will be alright.” As if everything else will fall into place…
This is not always the case. I generally have to relearn to look inside the hard way, and my guess would be that I am not alone in that. That’s where the reminder comes in. When’s the last time you looked into how you are doing on the inside? Forget the accomplishments for a minute – how’s your heart?

Quality posting, I am viewing back again frequent looking for improvements.
